Mob Psycho 100 x Sweets Paradise Collaboration Cafe Recap!

Mob Psycho 100 is no doubt a special series. It conveys many themes with grace, and is a series that just keeps getting better the further along you go. I was along for the ride while season 1 was airing, although in the interim between season 1 and 2 it seemed to absolutely explode in popularity. After I caught up with the manga, I was so excited for season 2 and to see the new story arcs animated, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Best of all, the series had become popular enough to start having collaboration cafes pop up around Tokyo, including one by Sweets Paradise. Sweets Paradise is a dessert buffet with locations all around Tokyo, and a drink stand in Akihabara. I went to both the Yokohama Sweets Paradise and the Akihabara drink stand to celebrate season 2 – check out my photos and recap below!

The first stop was the drink stand in Akihabara. The drink stand is unique in that it didn’t serve any of the collaboration food, but just drinks. I got the Reigen drink (complete with salt on the rim) and my sister got the Mob drink. I totally lucked out by getting two different Reigen coasters!

The experience at the Yokohama Sweets Paradise is completely different. With a full collaboration menu and dessert buffet, my friend Sonja and I each paid a flat fee to sit and enjoy the dessert buffet. Let me tell you, I ate like there was no tomorrow. Sweets Paradise lives up to its name with every cake and pastry you can imagine, and all you can eat! Ironically the one thing we couldn’t eat was strawberries, while cheap and in abundance here in the States, in Japan they are incredibly expensive and required an additional charge.

We ordered drinks and food and it was all decorated so cute. I got the Ekubo pasta, which was fine… it seemed mostly healthy to cancel out all of the cake I had eaten beforehand. I can’t emphasize this enough: I gained twice my body weight at Sweets Paradise in one sitting.

In addition to the cute decor of the restaurant, there were also adorable acrylic stands of Mob Psycho 100 characters that you could use for picture-taking opportunities! I had fun posing Reigen alongside my Osomatsu plush and with my new collaboration goodies from ordering food (yet another Reigen coaster). There was also a small shop section with Mob Psycho 100 goods, I particularly thought the Reigen salt was hilarious, and the Ekubo marshmallows were so cute.

Now that season 2 of Mob Psycho 100 is over, I can’t wait for more! The best is yet to come in season 3, and I’m looking forward to all of the new collaborations the future brings.
